Ebb Hotel Dunedin
Ebb Hotel is a boutique hotel in central Dunedin. Findable designed, made and installed the hotel's complete wayfinding system, so guests find their rooms, the spa and dining without ever needing to ask.
Challenge
Boutique interiors leave little room for signage that shouts. The building's heritage floor plan splits circulation across split-level corridors, and first-time guests were relying on staff directions from the front desk.
The brief was a system quiet enough to sit inside the interior palette and clear enough to carry a guest from the entrance to any room number - arrival to door, unaided.

One team carried Ebb Hotel from the first site walk through fabrication to final install - no handovers, no gaps between drawing and building.
Our Approach
We walked the building the way a guest arrives: from street, to desk, to lift, to door. Every decision point was mapped before a single sign was drawn.
From that map we designed a compact family of signs - arrival, level, directional and room - fabricated to sit with the hotel's joinery and lighting rather than on top of it.
The System
The installed system covers every guest decision point:
- Arrival and reception identification
- Lift lobby and level identification
- Directional signs at corridor junctions
- Room numbers, spa and dining identification
Outcome
Guests now move from arrival to their room, the spa or dinner without directions. The signs read as part of the interior, not an addition to it.
Because Findable made and installed every piece, the system went in cleanly and can be extended as the hotel evolves.
